By 2013 the XR650L had been on sale for two decades with almost no change, and these years carried on the same recipe: a big air-cooled single with electric start, a dry-sump oil system and long-travel Showa suspension. It is a genuinely dirt-capable dual-sport rather than an adventure tourer, valued for toughness and low running costs, though tall seat, small tank and basic tyres are common complaints.
